Step by Step to a Healthier Smile

Let’s Break it Down
Consultation
Once you book your in-office consultation, you’ll swing by and meet the awesome Palo Alto Orthodontics team. We’ll conduct a thorough examination of your mouth and chat about your goals. Then, we’ll carefully analyze your diagnostic records so we can understand your situation and come up with an in-depth treatment plan. We’ll present you with your options, go over the details, including the cost, and answer your questions so you can make an informed decision. Not ready to come to the office? Get Your Braces Put On
Congrats! You’re on your way to a brand new smile. We promise, this part doesn’t hurt at all and there are no needles. Dr. Yoo will attach your brackets with a special adhesive and then place the archwires and, if necessary, the elastics or ties. The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour. When we’re finished, we’ll let you know how to care for your braces and you’ll be all set.
Adjustments
You’ll come in for regular appointments so the doctor can make adjustments and check on your progress. With every adjustment, you’ll be a little closer to having straight teeth. If you have questions, ask away. For our child and teen patients, we make sure to keep their parents or guardians in the loop too.
The Braces Come Off
This is a big day! The doctor will use her special tools to gently remove your brackets and wires, which is also painless. She’ll scrape off any leftover adhesive, polish your teeth and let you admire your gorgeous, healthy smile.
