Braces Explained
Braces are fixed orthodontic appliances that shift the teeth into their
correct positions and align your bite using steady, gentle pressure.
How Braces Work
All types of braces get their straightening power from brackets and wires. The brackets are bonded to the teeth with special dental adhesive. The archwire attaches to the brackets and is what actually guides teeth into place. Thanks to this continuous pressure, not only do the teeth move in specific directions, the bone grows and changes shape as well to hold your pearly whites in their new spots.
New and Improved
Today’s braces are sleeker and more comfortable than ever before. We even have discreet versions and ones that rely on memory wires. Braces are still a popular choice because they can treat patients of all ages and work on the largest variety of cases ranging from simple to very complex. At your consultation, we’ll go over which type of braces will give you the best possible results.
