Invisalign First
Over the years, Invisalign has continued to improve. Now, a new treatment called Invisalign First can help young children, even before their permanent teeth come in. Palo Alto Orthodontics is excited to offer Invisalign First for families in the area.
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends children visit the orthodontist for the first time by age seven. By visiting an orthodontist around this time, (or sometimes earlier), you can ensure kids get off to the best start for a healthy, beautiful smile.
With a check-up, we can detect emerging problems and address them early. In many cases, kids won’t require treatment, but we can spot any red flags if they do.
That way, we can catch problems before they have a chance to worsen. By getting started, treatment can be easier and shorter for kids. Even better, you can avoid the need for treatment later in life and related expenses.
Invisalign For Phase I Treatment
Phase I treatment occurs while kids still have their baby teeth, starting around age six. Now, we can use Invisalign First for Phase I treatment to help correct many types of problems.
The removable, comfortable aligners help prevent crowding, narrow dental arches and facilitate optimal spacing. Thus, we catch developing problems before they have a chance to worsen. As a result, we can ensure kids have a healthy, functional bite for long-term health.
Importantly, Phase I treatment benefits range from improving self-esteem to improving facial symmetry. It can improve the appearance of a growing child’s smile. Further, it can help with habits like thumb sucking and tongue thrusting, which can cause problems like overbites.
Thus, early treatment can be highly important and pave the way for a lifetime of better oral health.

Invisalign First Is Easy for Kids
Invisalign First is designed specifically for the unique needs of growing children.
Since the aligners come out easily, they can eat and clean their teeth normally. Also, the aligners are easy to clean, requiring parents’ minimal effort.
Unlike braces, the thin SmartTrack material doesn’t have wire or brackets to irritate or poke the mouth.
Invisalign for Phase II treatment
Following Phase I treatment, Phase II can be easier, takes less time, and will be less expensive overall. Moreover, if kids have become accustomed to Invisalign First, they will be familiar if Invisalign Teen is part of a Phase II plan later in life. So, they’ll be ahead of the game and find it easy to adjust and get results faster and more comfortably.
From there, your child will be off to the best possible start and a lifetime of better oral health and smiles.
