what is invisalign?

Skip the Brackets and Wires

Invisalign is a high-tech way to straighten your teeth involving a series of clear, removable, comfortable aligners for a discreet, convenient alternative to braces. At Palo Alto Orthodontics, we treat extensively with Invisalign and we’ve been trained and certified by Align Technology, the brilliant minds behind the treatment, giving us the expertise and knowledge to achieve stellar results. However, every mouth is different, so you’ll need to schedule a free consultation to see if you’re a candidate for Invisalign.

How it Works

What is InvisalignUsing a digital 3D model of your mouth, Dr. Yoo maps out the movements of each individual tooth directly on the model. Invisalign then creates a series of precisely calibrated aligners based on their treatment specifications. Since they’re custom-molded, they’ll fit your mouth perfectly and comfortably. You’ll wear a new set of aligners about every two weeks and as you move through the series, your teeth shift a little bit more until they reach their final positions. Then, you’ll be smiling like you never have before!

What is Invisalign

Clear Advantages

Invisalign aligners are manufactured from smooth, flexible, BPA-free plastic that fits over your teeth a little bit like a mouthguard. They’re extremely comfortable and virtually invisible. Your smile won’t be obscured by any hardware and most people probably won’t notice you’re wearing them. You can take your aligners out to brush and floss your teeth and to eat, so there are zero food restrictions (yay, popcorn!) and your oral hygiene routine won’t change a bit.

Why Choose Invisalign?

  • Great for treating a variety of cases in teens and adults
  • Virtually invisible
  • Smooth and comfortable
  • Removable so there are no food restrictions

Why Choose Braces?

  • Great for children, teens and adults and work on the widest variety of cases
  • Esthetic, less noticeable options are available
  • Self-ligating braces are extremely comfortable
  • Stay put throughout treatment so you don’t need to worry about losing them
